On April 27, Mr Károly Kovács, President of the HWP signed the cooperation agreement with Mr Zsolt Volencsik, CEO of the Nemzeti Vízművek Zrt. (NV Zrt.). The partnership between HWP and NV Zrt. covers two areas: capacity building (commissioning and operation skills) related to new facilities built by HWP’s member companies abroad and sharing the best practices of water utility service providers under NV Zrt. with foreign partners. NV Zrt. is also setting up a database of its available professionals, who can train the staff of the foreign water utility service providers. In the course of their business activities abroad, HWP member companies may cooperate with individual water utility service providers falling under NV Zrt.
The NV Zrt. has been operational since 1 January 2021. It was established to exercise the ownership rights and obligations of the Hungarian state over 6 state-owned water utility companies and state-owned water utility networks. The company operates under the strategic control of the Minister without portfolio in charge of National Assets.
