    Hungarian Water Partnership and PASA Sign Strategic Cooperation Agreement on Sustainable Sanitation In Africa

    On the 27th of February, the Hungarian Water Partnership (HWP) and the Pan-African Association of Sanitation Actors (PASA) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) establishing a framework for cooperation for the joint development of an ecosystem and value chain for non-sewered sanitation, faecal sludge treatment and resource valorisation.

    At the invitation of the Hungarian Water Partnership (HWP), 50 senior water sector leaders, technical directors, and policy decision-makers from over 15 African countries visited Budapest between February 24–28, 2026, to learn about Hungary’s internationally recognized water technologies and cooperation models.

    Hungarian Water Partnership and Hanoi University of Civil Engineering Mark a New Milestone in Hungarian–Vietnamese Water Cooperation

    On 28 January 2026, the Hungarian Water Partnership (HWP) and the Hanoi University of Civil Engineering (HUCE) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), opening new horizons for cooperation in sustainable water management, education, research, and joint professional initiatives.

    The agreement represents a significant milestone in the strengthening of Hungarian–Vietnamese relations in the water and environmental sectors and reflects the shared ambition of both parties to translate academic excellence and technological expertise into practical, future-oriented solutions.

    Hungarian Water Partnership and Saigon Technology University Launch Strategic Cooperation in Vietnam’s Water and Food Sectors

    On 26 January 2026, Saigon Technology University (STU) and the Hungarian Water Partnership (HWP) formalized their cooperation through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), establishing a new strategic framework for collaboration in water technology, education, research, and applications related to the food industry.


    The signing ceremony was held with the support and presence of the Consulate General of Hungary in Vietnam, underscoring the institutional importance of the partnership.

    Water is life, sanitation is dignity | Access to water means the same for everyone, but in Africa, “sanitation” refers only to having a closed toilet.

    The African Water and Sanitation Association (AfWASA) has been working for nearly 45 years to address water-related challenges across the continent. In 2023, the association changed its name from the African Water Association (AfWA) to the African Water and Sanitation Association (AfWASA). Expanding its scope to include sanitation brings new tasks and challenges for the organisation at strategic, decision-making, and service-strengthening levels.

    Are we rich enough to buy cheap? Life-Cycle-based project preparation for sustainable projects

    ​It is often the case that financial institutions and donors focus on the cheapest solutions during project preparation. However, both the beneficiary and the donor organisation share the same interest: to implement investments that are sustainable and operational in the long term.  At the 13th Balkan Water Conference, organised by the Albanian Water Supply and Sewerage Association (SHUKALB) under the title “Sustainable Water Management in a Changing Climate”, Dr Károly Kovács, PhD, President of Hungarian Water Association and founder of Pureco, presented a tool that can help achieve this dual objective.
