HWP Opens New Membership Opportunities for all Water Sector Companies Registered in Hungary

The Hungarian Water Partnership is entering a new phase in its mission to strengthen Hungary’s water sector, expand international cooperation, and support the global visibility of water-related Hungarian expertise, innovation, technologies and services.

The Hungarian Water Partnership has taken a new step in strengthening international cooperation in Southeast Asia through a partnership with Hung Vuong University Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. The cooperation focuses on technology transfer, education, research, and practical water-sector collaboration in areas such as drinking water treatment, industrial water treatment, wastewater treatment and water quality control. The partnership, formalised through an MoU signed in Ho Chi Minh City, opens new opportunities for Hungarian water technologies, companies and experts to connect with Vietnamese partners and support sustainable water management in the region.

Water challenges don´t stop at national borders. Climate change, rapid urbanisation, growing water demand and increasing pressure on natural resources are creating complex challenges that require international cooperation, innovation and shared expertise.

The Hungarian Water Partnership (HWP) was honoured to participate in the Indonesia–Hungary Business Forum on Investment Opportunities in Indonesia’s Special Economic Zones (SEZs), organised with the support of the Embassy of Indonesia in Hungary, the Hungarian Export Promotion Agency (HEPA), and the Hungarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (HCCI).

The Hungarian Water Partnership (HWP) recently welcomed a delegation of Indian water industry professionals in Budapest as part of a broader business mission organised by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and the Hungarian Export Promotion Agency (HEPA).

Dr. Károly Kovács, President of the Hungarian Water Partnership and President of Hungarian Water Association, participated as a speaker at the 2026 Danube Water Forum, held in Sofia on 20–22 May. The central theme of the international professional event was strengthening water resilience in the Danube region under the title “From Vision to Action: Building a Water-Resilient Danube Region.”

During the four days of this year’s IFAT Munich international environmental trade fair, the stand of the Hungarian Water Partnership (HWP) became a true international meeting point. We welcomed visitors, partners, and decision-makers from five continents, engaging in numerous professional discussions.

On the 27th of February, the Hungarian Water Partnership (HWP) and the Pan-African Association of Sanitation Actors (PASA) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) establishing a framework for cooperation for the joint development of an ecosystem and value chain for non-sewered sanitation, faecal sludge treatment and resource valorisation.

On 27 February 2026, the Hungarian Water Partnership (HWP) awarded the prestigious title of Honorary Ambassador to Mr. Oliver Nachevski, recognizing his outstanding contributions to strengthening the international reputation of the Hungarian water industry and promoting global professional cooperation in the water sector.

A high-level African water delegation of 50 welcomed in Budapest. At the invitation of the Hungarian Water Partnership (HWP), 50 senior water sector leaders, technical directors, and policy decision-makers from over 15 African countries visited Budapest between February 24–28, 2026, to learn about Hungary’s internationally recognized water technologies and cooperation models.

300+ participants, 20+ countries, one shared goal: the future of water security

Leading water sector stakeholders from Africa, Europe, and Asia gathered in Hungary for the international conference “The Future of Water”, organized by the Hungarian Water Partnership within the framework of Planet Budapest 2026.

The Hungarian Water Partnership (HWP) and Saigon Technology University (STU) have officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in Ho Chi Minh City, marking a significant milestone in Hungarian–Vietnamese cooperation in the fields of water management, technology innovation, and education.

On 28 January 2026, the Hungarian Water Partnership (HWP) and the Hanoi University of Civil Engineering (HUCE) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), opening new horizons for cooperation in sustainable water management, education, research, and joint professional initiatives.

The achievements of Hungarian innovators within the Hungarian Water Partnership network, are powerful testimonies to how national expertise can contribute to global goals.
