Budapest Waterworks Joins the Hungarian Water Partnership
The Hungarian Water Partnership (HWP) is pleased to welcome Budapest Waterworks (Fővárosi Vízművek Zrt.) as a new member, bringing more than 150 years of water utility experience and international project expertise to our network.
One of Central and Eastern Europe’s leading water utility service providers in terms of scale and technological expertise, Budapest Waterworks produces, treats and distributes drinking water to more than two million people. Its activities also encompass wastewater treatment and related services.
Building on the experience gained in its core operations, the company launched its international activities in the mid-2000s, focusing on water and wastewater treatment facility construction projects and consultancy services for utility operators. Its expertise includes improving operational efficiency, reducing water losses, strengthening customer service and improving energy efficiency.
Budapest Waterworks brings a valuable operator’s perspective to HWP: practical knowledge of how water infrastructure performs in everyday use, alongside the technical and organisational experience needed to improve services. This expertise offers opportunities for knowledge exchange and closer cooperation with HWP member companies.
Through its membership, Budapest Waterworks aims to support HWP in helping member companies improve their performance and develop their capacities. We look forward to building on this contribution to strengthen cooperation and promote Hungarian water expertise internationally.
