HWP Introduced to the participants of the Saudi - Hungarian Business Forum in Budapest

Angelika Puskás, Managing Director of the Hungarian Water Partnership introduced the Hungarian Water Partnership to participants of the Saudi - Hungarian Business Forum and B2B Meeting held on 24 September 2026 at the Kempinski Hotel Corvinus Budapest.

Organised jointly by the Hungarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MKIK) and the Federation of Saudi Chambers, the forum focused on strengthening and deepening the economic relations between Hungary and Saudi Arabia, facilitating direct business connections and identifying new opportunities for mutually beneficial cooperation.

The event brought together approximately 120 participants, including representatives of more than 80 Hungarian and 20 Saudi companies. Around 170 bilateral business meetings took place during the day, providing participating organisations with an excellent platform to introduce their expertise, explore concrete areas of cooperation and establish new professional and commercial relationships.

The forum was opened by Péter Kárpáti, Hungarian Co-Chairman of the Saudi–Hungarian Business Council; Marwan Almutlaq, Saudi Co-Chairman of the Saudi–Hungarian Business Council; and H.E. Majed Abdulaziz M. Al Abdan, Ambassador of Saudi Arabia to Hungary. János Bakó, Chief of Staff at the Ministry of Economy and Energy’s State Secretariat for Foreign Economic Relations, also delivered opening remarks.

As part of the professional programme, the Hungarian Investment Promotion Agency (HIPA) presented Hungary’s investment environment and available opportunities. Further presentations were delivered by representatives of Saudi government institutions and Hungarian and Saudi companies.

The participating Saudi delegation represented a broad range of sectors, including:

  • construction,

  • agriculture and food production,

  • water management and the water industry,

  • energy,

  • tourism,

  • real estate,

  • healthcare,

  • information technology,

  • manufacturing,

  • investment and professional services.

This diverse participation created valuable opportunities for Hungarian companies and professional organisations to engage directly with potential Saudi partners.

For HWP, participation in the forum offered an important opportunity to introduce the capabilities of the Hungarian water sector, develop new relationships and explore potential cooperation in water and wastewater management. Direct dialogue with Saudi stakeholders also helped identify areas in which Hungarian expertise, technologies and integrated solutions could contribute to future water-related projects.

The Hungarian Water Partnership is committed to supporting the international presence of Hungarian water-sector companies and strengthening long-term cooperation with partners in strategically important markets. Events such as the Hungarian–Saudi Business Forum play an essential role in connecting expertise with market needs and turning professional dialogue into tangible partnerships and projects.
