The conference center of the János Selye University in Révkomárom (Komárno, Slovakia) hosted the Hungarian-Slovak Water Industry Professional and Business Meeting on September 19. The patron of the conference was Dr. Csaba Balogh, Hungary's ambassador to Slovakia.
In the first part of the event, lectures were given on the situation of the water utility companies and water industry of the two countries. This was followed by a panel discussion on the role of water utility operators, their future and tasks.
The main topic of the conference was the environmental, social and governance system (ESG) and its impact of these sustainability requirements on the water industry and water sector in general. Three related questions were examined: the impact of ESG on the daily operations of companies, water industry technical solutions from an ESG perspective, and ESG-related water industry case studies from the two countries.
The conference was followed by bilateral business meetings (B2B) organized by CED Central European Economic Development Network Np. Kft.
