On the occasion of Vietnam Water Week 2025, the Vietnam Water Supply and Sewerage Association hosted a gala evening on August 20 in Hanoi. The highlight of the festive event was the presentation of awards to those who have made significant contributions to the sustainable development of Vietnam’s water sector.
In his address, Nguyễn Ngọc Điệp, President of the Association, emphasized that this year’s Vietnam Water Week carries special importance, being held in conjunction with the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, at a time when many sectors – including water management – are undergoing policy renewal. He noted that the water sector faces major challenges, which can only be overcome through the unity and dedicated work of professionals. He added that the gala not only aimed to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence, but also to honor those who have played a prominent role in the advancement of Vietnam’s water supply and sewerage sector.
During the ceremony, Róbert Forintos, Co-Chair of the Hungarian Water Partnership, was awarded the “Medal for the Cause of Vietnam’s Water Supply and Sewerage.” Presenting the recognition, Nguyễn Ngọc Điệp underlined: “This award is a recognition of the cooperation, support, and persistent contributions provided over the years by a close friend to the development of Vietnam’s water industry.”
