The main organizer of the event was Pham Ngoc Chu - President of the Association of Vietnamese Entrepreneurs Living in Hungary. H.E. Nguyen Thi Bich Thao - Ambassador of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to Hungary, Róbert Forintos - President of the Hungarian-Vietnamese Business Council, Vice-President of the ASEAN Department of the Hungarian Chamber of Trade and Industry and Co-President of the HWP, as well as Hungarian and Vietnamese businessmen participated in the event.
After Mr. Chu's opening speech, Ngo Dong Hai, head of the delegation, Party Secretary of Thai Binh Province and member of the Central Party Committee, praised the strong economic and cultural relations between the two countries. He pointed out that Hungary will celebrate the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Hungary and Vietnam next year and is currently the first and only universal strategic partner of Vietnam in the Central European region.
H.E. Ambassador Thao reaffirmed the party secretary's words, as she considers it an important milestone that, especially in the last five years, the relations between our countries have deepened even more.
In his welcome speech, Róbert Forintos emphasized that he has been doing business in Vietnam for more than thirty years. However, he considered it important to call attention to the fact that the Vietnamese community living in Hungary is one of the most important drivers of trade relations between the two countries. He was glad to hear that students from Thai Binh province also came to study in Hungary within the framework of the Stipendium Hungaricum scholarship program. Mr. Forintos highlighted, on the occasion of Earth Day, that the protection of the environment is extremely important for our countries, due to the fact that both are committed to carbon neutrality and sustainability.
In his presentation, Mr. Lai Van Hoan, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Thai Binh Province, spoke about the region's natural resources, economic situation and objectives in general. He mentioned that the province places great emphasis on encouraging the export/import of goods, renewable energy sources and the importance of knowledge transfer.
Several companies delivered their presentations in the forum. HWP, which counts with a member company that has already achieved significant success in the field of drinking water purification in Vietnam, presented solutions to the water challenges faced in that country.
The series of presentations was closed by Pureco-Tradeland Kft.. Having many references in Africa and Asia, the company showed its affordable and sustainable drinking water and wastewater treatment solutions.
In his final remarks, Mr. Ngo Dong Hai emphasized that there is a great need for the technological solutions offered by Pureco-Tradeland and its subsidiary, Puraset Kft., in the field of drinking and wastewater treatment in Thai Binh province.
Mr. Forintos suggested that the water experts from the province of Quang Binh should visit the water treatment reference in the municipality, and expressed his intention to revisit Thai Binh province in the course of the year, in order to personally continue the negotiations there.
