COP28 focuses on key pillars, including the implementation of climate change commitments and pledges, joint action and identifying solutions that contribute to overcoming challenges, and seizing opportunities to ensure a sustainable future for present and future generations. As for the first time in the history of the conference, it was possible to include the intention to phase out the fossil energy carriers in the final statement.
Róbert Forintos, co-chairman of the Hungarian Water Partnership, attended the conference, and a representative of Water&Soil, a member company of HWP, had a successful participation in the event.
The co-chairman of the HWP met Ms. Fatime Ouala Gahoua Kanika - Director of Water Quality at the Ministry of Water and Hygiene of the Republic of Chad, and Minister Bolat Bekniyaz - first deputy minister of the new Ministry of Water and Irrigation of the Republic of Kazakhstan, in order to align their thoughts and together contribute to the success of water efforts and the global export of Hungarian water industry technologies.
Mr. Forintos together with Minister Csaba Lantos and the delegation of the Ministry of Energy of Hungary, visited the stand of John von Neumann University. The institution representatives presented a multifunctional vehicle controlled by artificial intelligence, whose energy needs are provided by the triple source of hydrogen, solar energy and electricity.
We hope, and trust, that more member companies of the HWP could attend the climate summit to be held in Baku next year.
