The conference “Advancing EU Water Directives: Forum on Innovation, Sustainability, and Collaboration”, held on 7–8 May 2025 at the Faculty of Environmental Science and Engineering of Babeș-Bolyai University in Cluj-Napoca, was a resounding success. Jointly organized by the Eco-Innovation Cluster for Sustainable Environment (CLEMS) and the Hungarian Water Partnership (HWP), the event brought together experts, policymakers, and industry leaders to address critical questions in the water sector. Discussions focused on enhancing cooperation for water industry innovation, the evolving role of sustainability in daily operations, lessons from water sector exports, and strategic planning tools like LCC and DCC for sustainable investments.
The event was concluded with a Gala Dinner held on that evening at Roata Făget Restaurant and hosted by CLEMS, offering participants a relaxed and enjoyable setting to continue networking and idea exchange.
The second day CLEMS arranged a technical visit to the municipal wastewater treatment plant, showcasing Romania’s unique thermal recovery facility for sewage sludge—a key example of innovation in environmental infrastructure.
Gratitude is extended to CLEMS's President, Dr. Nicoleta-Sanda Brișan, the host of the event, for her warmhearted hospitality which, combined with her profound professionalism, made the forum not only a memorable event but also set the direction for future collaboration between HWP and CLEMS.
