On 27 February 2026, the Hungarian Water Partnership (HWP) awarded the prestigious title of Honorary Ambassador to Mr. Oliver Nachevski, recognizing his outstanding contributions to strengthening the international reputation of the Hungarian water industry and promoting global professional cooperation in the water sector.
The honorary title was presented in Budapest by Dr. Károly Kovács, President of the Hungarian Water Partnership, together with Róbert Forintos, Co-President of HWP.
The Honorary Ambassador distinction is granted by the President of HWP to individuals who have made significant contributions to promoting Hungarian water expertise internationally. Candidates may be nominated by members of the HWP Presidency or by member companies. Established in 2022, the recognition does not include financial remuneration and is symbolized by a small golden pin shaped like an icosahedron, reflecting the geometric form of the HWP logo.
Mr. Nachevski currently serves as Chair of the International Water Association (IWA) Strategic Asset Management Specialist Group and as President of the Engineers Without Borders Macedonia Chapter. With more than four decades of experience in public infrastructure and municipal water services, he has worked extensively with governments, utilities, and professional organizations to strengthen service quality, optimize operational performance, and build institutional capacity in the water sector.
Educated in applied hydraulics and sanitary engineering at the Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje, Mr. Nachevski combines deep technical expertise with a strong record of international leadership. He previously served as President of Engineers Without Borders International, contributing to the advancement of engineering solutions for sustainable development worldwide.
Throughout his distinguished career, Mr. Nachevski has been a committed advocate for sustainable water management, professional excellence, and international cooperation. His work has supported the development of resilient water services and strengthened partnerships among professionals, institutions, and communities across multiple regions.
By awarding the Honorary Ambassador title, the Hungarian Water Partnership acknowledges Mr. Nachevski’s continuous support for the organization’s mission to foster professional cooperation and facilitate the exchange of knowledge and experience among national and international water industry stakeholders.
