Regional water challenges, practical Hungarian technologies and stronger partnerships for Africa
The Hungarian Water Partnership (HWP) was given a prominent opportunity to present Hungarian expertise and practical water-sector solutions at the 95th Session of the Strategic and Technical Council (STC) of the African Water and Sanitation Association (AfWASA), held in Malawi from 21 to 24 July 2025.
Water Korea 2025
The Hungarian Water Partnership and MaSzeSz represented Hungarian water-sector expertise at Water Korea 2025 in Seoul. The visit featured professional presentations, high-level meetings and the signing of a trilateral cooperation agreement with the Korea Water Partnership, opening new opportunities for knowledge exchange, technology cooperation and Hungarian water-industry exports.
HWP at AfWASA: Hungarian Water Expertise and Bankable Solutions in Uganda
The Hungarian Water Partnership presented Hungarian expertise and sustainable, bankable water solutions at the AfWASA Congress in Kampala. HWP’s seven-member delegation contributed professional presentations, organised a high-level international panel and held bilateral discussions with government, business and financing representatives from across Africa.
HWP Member Companies’ Solutions for One of the World’s Most Serious Global Challenges
Innovative Hungarian water technologies can make an important contribution to improving living conditions in developing countries. This was one of the key messages of the International Water Association’s Water and Development Congress, held in Kigali, Rwanda, where the Hungarian Water Partnership (HWP) brought together leading European and African water-sector experts for a dedicated workshop and panel discussion.

On 23 March, HWP organised a dedicated side event entitled “How to respond to the most urgent water-related development needs in the developing world? Bankable and sustainable WASH solutions.”
Bankable solutions in Côte d'Ivoire
For the first time, the Faecal Sludge Management Alliance (FSMA) will partner with the African Water Association to co-host the 21st AfWA Congress & Exhibition and the 7th International Faecal Sludge Management Conference in Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire, to bring together water and sanitation in this joint event, including faecal sludge management.
HWP at the Watrex Expo in Egypt
The Hungarian Water Partnership (HWP) successfully represented its member companies at WATREX Expo 2021. Renowned national water professionals also attended the event for partner and project research. Mr. Bálint Horváth, Secretary General of HWP and Managing Director of Pureco represented HWP at the EXPO and played an active role at the workshop organised by Hungarian Water Partnership on the second day.
